We all are aware that plugs in Europe differ from those in North America; but, the plugs in Switzerland differ even from those in Europe and you need an adapter. Furthermore, finding an adapter for North American 3 pin plug looks like impossible. I was sent to a special store which is not open on Sat so have to go again on Thu (when it is open till late you know).
10 garbage bags (sold in a special place, 2 diff sizes) - 12 SFr. Enjoy! Washing powder - higher priced! Shopping carts - have to put 2francs, get the cart, shop, return the cart and get your 2 francs. No comment! It feels that you are not in a predominantly consumative society I suppose!
It is quite difficult to find Red Delicious apples - so far, I have found only in one small Turkish store. And those small Turkish stores have extended opening hours - till 10pm and Sundays! Hallelujah!
6C is defined as winter here. When it's around 0-1 C , everybody complains that the winter is back! :)
Now I have to say - God bless Quebec and its 101 or French language policy! In most of the cases, the information on the labels (e.g., content, utilization etc) is written in German, French and Italian. Considering that my German is pretty bad right now, French becomes my primary focus (when English is missing right :) ) Merci Quebec!
Where should you buy a bike? Go to the nearest German town/store and get it from there for a few times lower price!
And after all those stricking or not-so pleasant example, let me tell you about a positive one :). In the grocery stores, you can buy alchohol - from beer and wine to liquor. Montreal is much ahead of the rest of North Amrica but still, you can buy only wine and beer and usually the wine collection is small which is not the case here (at least in some of the stores).
