Lugano

When the May 1 long weekend came, the trip to the canton Ticino began. First stop was Lugano. We took an early morning train to Lugano and after 2 changes (instead of the promised 1 and some organizational SBB faults - please note, that the Swiss railway have issues every now and then :) ) we arrived in Lugano before lunch on May 1. I knew that it is supposed to beautiful there, but the reality sort of over delivered :). Not to forget the weather that was such a treat - around 23C! The first look was pretty much breathtaking - the mountains, the town, the lake - all in one. It is amazing how well all fits and delivers.
The town of Lugano is a small, attractive place, full of retired people (most pf them with money and a lot of money I suppose considering the characters and places we saw). After arrival, the first major stop was San Salvatore. After taking the cable train (or the funicular), we reached the top... And if we had thought that Lugano is amazing, the view from the top of San Salvatore topped it up thousands of times. The mountain... the lake.. the colors... all together was like a dream or the heaven (if you think that the picture is amazing, you can trust me that the reality was much better - better pics with the future camera :) )!
You can find a lot of restaurants, terraces, caffes that are outside. Aparently, on May 1st, there was a demonstration for the World Labor Day (or whatever it is called) and people was walking and shouting on the street.
Unfortunately, I cannot recommend a place that was amazing and I feel comfortable recommending.

We took a boat trip in the Lugano lake, a few hours before sunset and we lost out words! Unbelievable! Neither my words nor pics can describe what it was there. You have to see it!
And them came Saturday and our trip continued after some shopping (Geox shoes and 2 apples for 6Fr) :)
